Rolo Cookie Goodness

ROLO COOKIES

1 tsp baking soda
48 Rolos
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp sugar (for rolling the cookies in)

Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and set aside.
Beat sugars; add eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Add in the dry ingredients mixture, blend well.

Shape cookies into small balls and press a Rolo into the center. Cover with dough. Roll cookie into sugar. Set on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 until cracks appear on the tops of the cookies. Enjoy!

The Road that Should Have Been...

Less traveled...Between Winnemucca and Wendover (a stretch of about 250 miles) we faced really bad winter roads, really bad winter roads...did I mention they were horrible roads? Bad enough in the daylight, freaky at night. It's hard to tell in this picture just how bad the snow fall was. Let's just say that whiteout, blizzard, and horizontal snow just don't feel strong enough to describe the conditions.

I hope you get something of an idea of what it was like...not the greatest picture but it will have to do.

Jelly Belly

On Saturday the 7th of February we (Devin, Amber, Kyle, Elizabeth, me, my mom and dad, Sylvia, and McKennah took a trip out to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, CA. We went on the tour and all had to wear these hats, even little Elizabeth.
